ROBOTICS - A STRATEGIC SUBJECT FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DIGITAL CITIZENS

As digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) continue to transform how people learn, work, and create, education must go beyond the delivery of academic knowledge. It should equip students with the essential skills and competencies needed to adapt, thrive, and shape the future.

With this vision, UNIGO Primary and Lower Secondary School will officially introduce Robotics into its curriculum starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, in partnership with ROBOHUB VIETNAM - a pioneer in Robotics and STEM education in Vietnam.

Robotics - A Subject for the Digital Generation

Robotics is much more than assembling and controlling robots. It is an interdisciplinary subject based on the STEAM model - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics - that enables students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations through hands-on exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.

In each lesson, students will assemble robotic models, write control programs, test their designs, make adjustments, and refine their final products. Through this process, they gradually develop logical thinking, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and technological literacy - essential competencies for global citizens in the 21st century.

An Age-Appropriate Robotics Curriculum

In collaboration with ROBOHUB VIETNAM, the Robotics curriculum at UNIGO is structured around a progressive learning pathway tailored to each grade level. This allows students to build their technological knowledge and skills step by step, from foundational concepts to advanced applications.

Primary School

Grade 1 - OLLO Initiate

Students explore the basic principles of Robotics through hands-on assembly activities while developing fine motor skills, observational thinking, and creativity.

Grade 2 - OLLO Kinder

Students are introduced to basic programming, sensors, and robot control, gradually building technological thinking and the ability to operate smart devices.

Grade 3 - OLLO Spark

Through a range of robot-building and programming projects, students strengthen their logical thinking, analytical skills, and creativity.

Grades 4 and 5 - OLLO Excel

Students work with advanced robotics kits featuring sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, and other modern functions. These activities expand their ability to design, operate, and apply robots to real-world contexts.

Lower Secondary School

OLLO Pro

Students explore multi-jointed robotic models and learn to control them using R-Block, R-Motion, and Python – one of the world’s most widely used programming languages.

TIG - Advanced Programming Programme

Students develop complete robotics projects while exploring AI thinking and modern technological applications. This helps them enhance their creativity and apply technology to solve real-world problems.

The programme will be delivered by ROBOHUB VIETNAM instructors with extensive experience in Robotics and STEM education. Through a modern, student-centred teaching approach, the instructors will guide students as they explore technology and develop engineering thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through practical projects.

Learning Through Hands-On Experience

One of the key strengths of the Robotics programme at UNIGO is its modern, student-centred approach. Students learn through direct practice following the “Build - Programme - Test - Improve” process under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Beyond classroom lessons, students will also have opportunities to participate in hands-on activities, technology playgrounds, and innovation competitions such as STEAMCUP and Innovation Day. These experiences make Robotics education more engaging, dynamic, and inspiring.

Building a Strong Foundation for the Future

Introducing Robotics into the UNIGO curriculum marks an important step in the school’s educational strategy. It contributes to the development of a modern learning environment where students not only acquire knowledge but also develop their thinking, practical skills, creativity, and technological competence.

Through its partnership with ROBOHUB VIETNAM, UNIGO aims to give students early access to technology while nurturing creativity, adaptability, and global readiness. With these foundations, students will be well prepared to become confident and capable digital citizens of the future.
